Development History


On December 26, 2017, the production line of the assembly plant of Liudong commercial vehicle base was officially launched, and this was another new milestone for Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor.


On October 17, 2016, the second phase of Liudong passenger vehicle base was completed and put into operation. In the same year, sales volume of the company officially broke through 300,000, and the sales revenue exceeded 22 billion yuan.

Dongfeng Liudong base was broken ground. After completion, the base will be built with an annual output scale of 400,000 passenger vehicles and 100,000 commercial vehicles. It will be a modern vehicle manufacturing benchmark factory which integrates R & D, vehicle manufacturing and assembly, transportation, engine manufacturing and assembly into one.


For the first time, the sales volume of the company broke through 100,000, and sales revenue has exceeded 12 billion yuan.


Starting up the "Two Projects" (M53 project and B11 projects). We have opened up a new era of independent research and development of commercial vehicles and passenger cars at the same time.


In September, the company launched the first domestic self-owned brand MPV Dongfeng Lingzhi. The passenger vehicle brand “Dongfeng” was born.


On July 18, Liuzhou Automobile Factory officially restructured into a limited liability company. Dongfeng Auto Corporation held 75% of shares, and Liuzhou State-owned Assets Operation Co., Ltd held 25% of shares. It was renamed Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co. Ltd.


In June, the commercial vehicle base of Liuzhou Automobile Factory was completed and put into operation. In December of the same year, the sales volume exceeded 10,000 for the very first time.


The vehicle production reached 5,000 for the first time.


On February 17, 1981, approved by the National Machinery Industry Commission, Liuzhou Automobile Factory joined Dongfeng Auto Corporation. Since then, “Liujiang” brand and “Guangxi” brand developed into “ Dongfeng” brand. From then on, Liuzhou Automobile Factory developed rapidly by relying on Dongfeng Auto Corporation.


It was renamed "Liuzhou Automobile Factory" and successfully developed

the first domestic medium-sized diesel truck in the same year.


The development and production of Guangxi's first “Liujiang” brand truck had ended the history that Guangxi could only repair cars but not produced cars. The company stepped from the agricultural machinery industry to the automotive industry. In the long way of development of independent vehicles, a new journey was started. On March 31, 1973, “ Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Liuzhou Automobile Factory” was officially founded.

On February 3, Liuzhou Agricultural Machinery Factory held a pledge meeting and determined to fight for 35 days to win the battle of vehicle trial production.

On September 30, the first batch of 10 trucks produced by Liuzhou Agricultural Machinery Factory were sent to Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, to offer a tribute to the 20th anniversary of the new China.


The factory was established in 1954.

The predecessor of Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd is Liuzhou Agricultural Machinery Factory, which was established on October 6, 1954.
